Flying schools

Blue Ray Aviation

A Mehsana school whose fee page itemises every hour it sells and then publishes an instalment ladder that adds up to exactly the same total.

Blue Ray Aviation flies from the Mehsana airfield in Gujarat, and its fee page does the thing you most want a fee page to do: it lists the components, prices each of them, totals them, and then prints a five instalment schedule that comes to precisely the same figure. Two halves of a page agreeing is rarer in this market than it should be.

The itemisation is worth reading line by line because it tells you what the school considers the course to be. Registration and the student licence, one hundred and eighty five hours on the Cessna 172, fifteen hours on the Piper twin, twenty hours of simulator and the ground classes. There is no room and no food in that list.

One address detail to keep straight. The school names the Mehsana airfield throughout and gives its office there, while the regulator's list prints the same base under a different city. That is the regulator's city field disagreeing with the school and not a second base, so do not read it as two places to train.

The regulator prints approval 03/2018 against this organisation, records its ownership as Private Ltd, and gives the approval as valid to 7 August 2028.

The DGCA list records 6 single engine and 1 multi engine, types Cessna 152, Cessna 172S, Cessna 172R, Cessna 182T and Piper PA-34. The school's own training page says it operates 'a fleet of 5 aircrafts', being 4 single engine Cessna 172 and 1 multi engine Piper Seneca. The regulator's single engine count is two higher and includes a Cessna 152 and a Cessna 182T the school does not mention. Both are recorded as found.

Where the regulator ranks it

DGCA ranking, 1 April 2026 edition: Category C, printed at serial 32. It held the same category in the 30 September 2025 edition, so the letter has not moved between the two.

The regulator publishes a letter and a serial number and no score at all, so there is nothing behind the letter to inspect and nothing here to rank schools against each other by. The bands the letters come from, and how many organisations sit in each on this edition, are set out on the flying schools in India index.

How far you can trust each number below

Published
Printed on the operator's or the regulator's own page.
Reported
From a brochure, an aggregator or a cadet, not from the operator's own price list.
Estimated
A range built up from parts, not lifted whole from any one source.
Undisclosed
No public number exists. We say so rather than filling the gap.

What that figure covers, in the source's own words

Inside the figure, and outside itQuoted rather than summarised. Where the source says nothing about an item, neither does this table, and an unmentioned cost is not the same as an included one.
How far to trust itWhat the source says
Published, and inside the figureRegistration and student pilot licence, 185 hours single engine on the Cessna 172, 15 hours multi engine on the Piper PA-34, 20 hours simulator, and ground classes.
Published, and outside the figureThe fee page does not state any exclusions. It links a separate refund and cancellation policy page, which was not required for the fee itself.

How you get in

Not published. The site describes no eligibility criteria, entrance test, interview, medical requirement or batch intake. The only route in is an enquiry form on the contact page, which was not filled in. Payment is by five instalments: Rs 2,50,000 at registration, then Rs 15,57,500 at induction, Rs 15,57,500 after 6 months or 20 hours, Rs 15,57,500 after 9 months or 70 hours, and Rs 15,57,500 after 12 months or 120 hours.

The site names Mehsana Airfield, Gujarat as the operating base throughout, and gives the office address as BRAPL Hangar, Mehsana Airfield, Near Circuit House, Mehsana I E, Mehsana, Gujarat 384002. The DGCA list names the base 'Mehsana Airstrip' but prints its city as Ahmedabad. This is the regulator's city field disagreeing with the school, not a second base.

What this school does not publish

The fee page lists no exclusions, so what falls outside the total is genuinely unknown rather than merely unattractive.

The site describes no eligibility criteria, entrance test, medical requirement or batch intake, so the only published route in is an enquiry form.

Where this sits in the wider cost

Nothing above is the whole cost of becoming a pilot. Our pilot training cost in India page has the full stack from the medicals to the type rating, and CPL course fees in India puts this school's licence figure next to the rest of the market.

Common questions

Is the Blue Ray Aviation fee an all in figure?

It is a complete figure for the components the school lists, and the school lists no exclusions. That is not the same as nothing being excluded. The regulator's examination fees, the medicals and your accommodation are real costs and the page is silent about all three.

How is it paid?

In five parts: a registration and student licence amount at the start, then four equal instalments tied to elapsed months or to flying hour counts, whichever comes first. The ladder is printed on the same page as the itemised total and the two agree.

Which aircraft would I actually fly?

The school's training page says four Cessna 172 aircraft and one Piper twin. The regulator's list records more single engine aircraft than that and adds two types the school does not mention. Both are on this page and neither is corrected.
