DGCA exam syllabus for CPL

A DGCA CPL candidate sits five theory papers, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Regulation, Technical General and Technical Specific, and needs 70 per cent in each one, counted on its own.

The CPL papers, and the rest of the bank

The DGCA publishes its syllabus as a list of subject headings. These are the topics inside each paper, as the question bank divides them, with the weight each one carries.

The bank divides them into 365 topics and 14,356 questions. Many topics have free sample questions, with the correct answer shown and no account needed.

A topic with two hundred questions in the bank has more for you to practise than one with fifteen.

Common questions

How many papers are in the DGCA CPL exam?

Five: Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Regulation, Technical General and Technical Specific. Performance is added only for aeroplanes heavier than 5,700 kg.

What is the pass mark?

70 per cent in each paper, cleared on its own. DGCA publishes no negative marking rule, and students report none.

Is RTR part of the DGCA syllabus?

No. RTR(A) is a separate radio licence, with a written part and a practical.
