Sha-Shib Flying Academy

A Guna academy whose package folds a year of hostel and meals into the course price, and sells fifteen twin engine hours on an approval that carries no twin.

Sha-Shib Flying Academy flies from Guna in Madhya Pradesh and publishes the only package in this directory that includes a year of accommodation and food inside the headline figure. Its fee page prices the registration, the admission, the licence paperwork, the day flying by the hour, the night flying at a higher hourly rate, the multi engine hours and the first year of hostel and mess, and totals them.

The multi engine line is the one to ask about. The package sells fifteen hours of twin engine flying, and the regulator's list records no multi engine aircraft against this academy at all. Both statements are here and neither is resolved. Where those hours would be flown, and on whose aircraft, is a question to settle in writing before you pay an instalment.

The academy's terms around leaving are strict and published. Nothing is refundable apart from a proportion of the unused flying charges, a student dismissed on disciplinary grounds gets nothing back, and anyone who discontinues is charged an additional amount described as establishment expenses.

One labelling oddity to expect if you visit the page: the package is headed for a session in 2027 while its instalment dates run through 2026. That is how the academy prints it, and it is recorded rather than corrected.

The regulator prints approval 21/2016 against this organisation, records its ownership as Society, and gives the approval as valid to 26 July 2027.

The DGCA list gives 4 single engine, no multi engine, types Thorp T-211 and Cessna 172. The school's fee structure sells 15 hours of multi engine flying at Rs 50,000 per hour as part of the CPL package, which sits against a regulator record showing no multi engine aircraft on the approval. No aircraft types or counts are named anywhere on the site. Both are recorded as they stand.

Where the regulator ranks it

DGCA ranking, 1 April 2026 edition: Category C, printed at serial 19. It held the same category in the 30 September 2025 edition, so the letter has not moved between the two.

The regulator publishes a letter and a serial number and no score at all, so there is nothing behind the letter to inspect and nothing here to rank schools against each other by. The bands the letters come from, and how many organisations sit in each on this edition, are set out on the flying schools in India index.

What that figure covers, in the source's own words

How you get in

Stated in outline. The CPL package is paid in four instalments: Rs 4,00,000 at registration, Rs 21,00,000 by 20 March 2026, Rs 20,00,000 by 20 June 2026 or on completion of 35 flying hours whichever is earlier, and Rs 20,00,000 by 20 September 2026 or on 70 flying hours whichever is earlier. A CPL checklist names the documents required: enrollment form, affidavit, passport photograph, 10th and 12th marksheets, board verification, police verification, Class 1 or Class 2 medical and address proof. All fees are payable by demand draft in favour of SFA. There is an online registration portal and a separate entrance exam page. Refund policy: apart from 80 percent of the unused portion of flying training charges, nothing is refundable, students dismissed on disciplinary grounds get nothing, and anyone who discontinues is additionally charged Rs 1,00,000.

No additional flying base. The 'Our Institutes' page lists eight Sha-Shib group institutes, but only one is the flying academy, at Guna Airport, Madhya Pradesh, which is the regulator's base. The other seven are AME and aerospace engineering colleges at Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Pune, Bhopal, Mumbai, Cochin and Gurugram. They are group colleges, not flying bases, and should not be presented as additional FTO locations.

What this school does not publish

Hostel and mess beyond the first year are not covered by the published total and no rate is given for them.

The regulator's examination fees are excluded by name on the academy's own page with no amount attached.

Where this sits in the wider cost

Nothing above is the whole cost of becoming a pilot. Our pilot training cost in India page has the full stack from the medicals to the type rating, and CPL course fees in India puts this school's licence figure next to the rest of the market.

Common questions

Does the Sha-Shib Flying Academy fee include somewhere to live?

For the first year, yes, and that is unusual. Hostel and mess for year one sit inside the published total as their own line. Anything beyond the first year is not covered, and the academy publishes no rate for it.

How does it fly the multi engine hours?

The package sells fifteen of them. The regulator's list records no multi engine aircraft against this academy. Both are stated on this page and the academy's own site names no aircraft types or counts anywhere, so this is a question to put to it directly.

What happens if I leave?

Very little comes back. The published policy refunds a proportion of the unused flying charges and nothing else, returns nothing at all to a student dismissed on disciplinary grounds, and adds a further charge described as establishment expenses to anyone who discontinues.
