Piston Engines - Fuel Injection: DGCA Technical General questions

A fuel injected engine replaces the carburettor with a fuel control unit that meters fuel against airflow and feeds a nozzle at each cylinder. Distribution is more even, and with no carburettor venturi there is no carburettor icing, though impact ice can still form.

These 11 questions follow the fuel from the engine driven pump through the control unit and manifold valve to the nozzles. Exam sessions have put 1 of them to candidates.

In the usual continuous flow system the nozzles spray into each inlet port, near the inlet valve, not into the cylinder, and the spray is not timed to the intake stroke. You still have a mixture control and still lean with altitude.
