Basics of Electronic Displays: DGCA Air Navigation questions
The primary flight display carries attitude, speed and altitude tapes and the flight director bars. The navigation display, often called the EHSI, shows route, radio aids and weather radar. On Boeing types with EICAS, that system shows engine data and crew alerts.
In most of the 46 questions you read a display: the selected mode, the active waypoint, a track or a symbol's colour. Exam sessions have included 3 of them.
On the Boeing style EHSI these questions follow, weather radar shows in the map and expanded modes but not in PLAN, which is drawn with true north up. On the common layouts the flight director bars sit on the primary display, amber marks a caution and magenta marks the active route or target.
