Aviation Physiology and Human Factors : DGCA Air Regulations questions
Human performance is part of Air Regulations in India, and this chapter covers its physical side: how pressure falls with height, what that does to the oxygen reaching your blood, and how your eyes and inner ear can mislead you.
Its 105 questions are mostly short definitions, with a few small numericals. The gas laws, hypoxia, time of useful consciousness, decompression sickness, barotrauma, carbon monoxide and visual illusions dominate. Exam sessions have included 13 from this set.
Keep the gas laws apart. Boyle's law explains trapped gas expanding in the ears, sinuses and gut. Dalton's law explains why a falling partial pressure of oxygen causes hypoxia. Henry's law explains nitrogen leaving solution in decompression sickness.
