International Agreements and Organizations: DGCA Air Regulations questions

ICAO adopts Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs): a contracting State must follow a Standard or notify ICAO of its difference, while a Recommended Practice is advice, and the Annexes to the Chicago Convention hold them by subject. Knowing which Annex covers what is basic air law.

Alongside the usual conventions and freedoms, the 24 questions here lean on Annex numbers, the objectives of ICAO and which of its bodies prepares SARPs for adoption. Exam sessions have asked 4 of this chapter's questions.

Annex 9, Facilitation, deals with the entry and departure of people and goods, while Annex 17 deals with security against unlawful interference. Rules of the air sit in Annex 2, and air traffic services have Annex 11 to themselves.
