The Circulation System: DGCA Air Regulations questions
Your heart and blood carry oxygen to every cell, so anything that weakens that supply, such as smoking or carbon monoxide from a faulty heater, lowers the altitude at which you start to suffer.
Most of the 20 questions are short facts: what each ventricle does, blood pressure, how breathing is controlled, carbon monoxide, smoking and blood donation. One calculation appears, cardiac output as heart rate multiplied by stroke volume. Exam sessions have asked 3 of these questions.
Keep the two sides of the heart straight: the right ventricle pumps blood to the lungs and the left pumps it round the body. Internal respiration is gas exchange between blood and tissues; the exchange in the lungs is external respiration.
