Flying schools in Hyderabad

The four organisations the regulator approves to train here, what each one charges or refuses to say, and the category the DGCA gave it.

Hyderabad is the only city in India where the regulator's own list bases four approved flying training organisations, three of them at the same working airport, which makes it the one place a student can compare a state academy and a private one without moving house.

Regulator's list as on 30 March 2026, fees last checked 8 September 2026. Every row below also carries its own date, because the four schools were not all read on the same day and a single date at the top of a page would be dating somebody else's work. The list itself is read from the DGCA's published list of approved flying training organisations, and where that list disagrees with this page, the regulator wins.

The four approved organisations in Hyderabad

The regulator bases three of the four at Begumpet, which is the old city airport and still a working one, so the aircraft on this table share a circuit with business jets and turboprop traffic. The fourth, Flytech, flies from the Nadergul aerodrome instead, which is a quieter field and a longer commute. That difference is worth more to your training than anything in the fee column: a busy airport gives you radio work and holding from the beginning, and a quiet one gives you circuits you actually get airborne for.

How far you can trust each number on this page

Published
Printed on the operator's or the regulator's own page.
Reported
From a brochure, an aggregator or a cadet, not from the operator's own price list.
Estimated
A range built up from parts, not lifted whole from any one source.

No public number exists. We say so rather than filling the gap.

What the four are actually offering

ARCA is the newest approval on the regulator's whole list and it behaves like it: its fee page prints a total, breaks that total into stage payments that add up exactly, and names what falls outside. It also flies the smallest fleet here: the regulator's list gives it 2 single engine and 1 multi engine aircraft: Tecnam P2010 TDI, Tecnam P2006T. That is the number to weigh against the published clarity. A clean price sheet and a handful of aeroplanes is a different risk from a vague price and a large fleet.

Wings Aviation is the opposite pairing. It holds the largest fleet in the city and it states in its own fee policy that fee details are not published on the website and will be provided on enquiry. That is not a page that forgot to mention money. It is a school that has decided what it charges is a conversation, and the row above says so with the date we looked rather than filling the gap with a number from a listing site.

The Telangana State Aviation Academy is the state half of the comparison, and the reason a Hyderabad student has a real choice to make rather than a shortlist of near identical private campuses. Its circulating figure is the lowest here by a wide margin and its source is the weakest here, which is the normal state of affairs for state academies: their fee documents exist as circulars and attachments rather than as pages.

Flytech publishes a fee too, and the thing to read before comparing it with the others is what its course contains. Its published commercial licence curriculum is two hundred hours on single engine aircraft with no multi engine hours in it, and the regulator's own list shows it holding no multi engine aircraft at all. That is not a cheaper version of the same course. It is a different course, and the multi engine hours you will still need are a separate purchase somewhere else.

One of them does not only fly here

Flytech Aviation Academy is also based at Nagarjuna Sagar Airfield, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. A second base is not a detail. It decides where you actually live during the flying phase, and a school can move you to it without changing the price you were quoted, so it is worth asking which field your hours will be flown at before you pay anything.

What this page will not tell you

It will not tell you how long the drive is from your side of the city to Begumpet or to Nadergul, because the regulator publishes an address and not a journey, and a plausible travel time is the same kind of invented number as a plausible fee. It will not average the four figures into a Hyderabad price either. Two of them are the schools' own published totals, one is an aggregator's figure for a state academy and one does not exist, and a single average of those four would be a number nobody charges.

Common questions

How many DGCA approved flying schools are there in Hyderabad?

Four, on the regulator's list as on 30 March 2026: ARCA Global Aviation, Flytech Aviation Academy, the Telangana State Aviation Academy and Wings Aviation. Three of them fly from Begumpet, the city airport, and Flytech flies from Nadergul, a separate aerodrome on the south east edge of the city. That is the whole list. Any other Hyderabad name you are shown is a ground school, an agent for a school that flies somewhere else, or a cabin crew institute.

Is the Telangana State Aviation Academy cheaper than the private schools in Hyderabad?

The figure that circulates for the state academy is well under half the figure ARCA publishes, and that gap is real. What it does not tell you is how long you will wait for an aeroplane. A state academy prices the flying and does not promise the slot, so the risk you take in exchange for the rate is time, and time at a state academy is what turns an eighteen month course into a three year one. The state academy's number also comes from listing sites rather than from the academy, which is a weaker source than any of the private figures on this page.

Can I train in Hyderabad while living at home?

At Begumpet you can, which is the practical reason this city is worth a page. It is a working airport inside the city rather than a campus on an airstrip somewhere quiet, so if you already live in Hyderabad you remove accommodation and food from your total, and those are the two costs a school never quotes you. Nadergul is further out but still a daily commute rather than a move. What you take on in exchange is traffic: an urban airport means real airspace and real delays from your first hours, which is good training and slow flying.

The full national picture, every approved organisation in the country grouped by state, is on the flying schools in India index.
